Kids (and dogs) Get Arthritis...Too!

In May 2000, at the age of 19 months, Isabella awoke with severe swelling in her left foot. Her symptoms continued to progress and in January 2001 she was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis (JA). JA is a chronic autoimmune disease with no known cure. Fortunately, there are treatments that work to minimize the pain and the debilitating effects for most patients. However, there is no cure, no surgery, no therapy that can reverse the destructive affect of JA from a body that has been harmed from joint damage, bone loss, impaired growth, eye damage - and more.

Since Isabella's diagnosis, our family has been working with the Arthritis Foundation MA Chapter to make a difference in our community. Olivia is an active member of the Juvenile Arthritis Committee, planning and organizing networking and educational events for the families and caregivers of children living with arthritis. We also raise funds and arthritis awareness through our participation in the Boston Arthritis Walk.

5,900 children living in MA are diagnosed with JA. 1 in 4 adults in the United States are living with arthritis - the number one disability in the US.

Please join us in the movement against arthritis by helping us reach our goal. Let's Move Together to improve lives and reduce the pain of arthritis.
